Our Golden Nuggets - Class of 2019

March 26, 2020
Kirsti Rivett

As you may or may not know, we have a whole family of influencers which we absolutely adore. We do, however, have a few who we have a very special relationship with. These are our hand-picked, top-performing individuals whom we call our Golden Nuggets.

When we think of our Golden Nuggets, many words come to mind. Talented. Driven. Motivated. But what really sets them apart is their readiness to always go above and beyond in their work and the criteria we set. We’ve handpicked the influencers who we believe have exceptional influence and each one of them has a specific talent that has got them to this influential point. They are each experts in their own niche fields. And they’re managed by our agency on a full-time basis and are given jobs based on their niche, talents and fit for the brand.

Our Golden Nuggets have been to some of the biggest events, had the opportunity to showcase their talents with companies that support them, and have been a part of South Africa’s hottest campaigns. They’re on fire, to say the least.

Because they’re a part of our family, we know them on a personal, one-on-one level, and therefore, we’re able to match them with work accordingly, knowing what ideas they will love and what brands they would fit perfectly.

What we especially love about them is how different they are from each other. But they do, however, all share a few common threads. That being a specific niche or talent, incredible work ethic and an above-average engagement rate.

So without further ado, meet the people that have real influence – the ones that stand out from the crowd, and blaze their own trails.

Ade van Heerden

From doctor to Miss South Africa! There’s no stopping this beautiful wonder woman. She’s the epitome of brains and beauty, for sure. But what most really love about Dee is her heart of gold. Whatever she does, and whoever she meets, the former Miss South Africa always manages to inspire and motivate. There’s no budging this girl’s rock-solid morals. And she’s as real as they get.

Alex Mcgregor

Meet Alex, a unique gem of an actress whose talent has gotten her in front of huge movies like Spud, Searchers and the most recent, Vagrant Queen. But that’s not all for this vegan, burger-loving actress. When she’s not behind the camera being somebody else, you’ll find her in a bikini on one of Cape Town’s well-known beaches. Oh, and in case you haven’t noticed...she’s drop.dead.gorgeous!

Ana Kuni

If you’ve ever seen one of Ana’s paintings, you’ll be sure to remember her name. If not, you’ll certainly remember the piercing, hypnotising eyes of her subject. It’s what Ana says captures the wild woman. Ana is a world-renowned artist specialising in mural art, canvases, metal works and other unique art pieces which she uses to express her creativity. But behind the paint brush is a fierce mother, incredibly strong woman and absolute beauty. When she’s not in her Cape Town gallery and studio, she’s living her best, eco-conscious life.

Babalwa Ndlwana

Bubbles” or “Babs” is one hell of a woman. She has a 9-5 job, is a full-time mom and an influencer, all at the tender age of just 25. Goals, right? She’s built an impressive community of followers by just being her! This girl sure does know a thing or two about looking on point. From make-up to high fashion, she always looks good, even with two babies on her hip.

Candice Bodington

Candi has had an interesting life thus far. After quitting her job as a graphic designer, she decided to switch careers entirely to pursue her real passion; personal training and nutrition. Naturally, she shared her excitement for health and wellness to the world. And the world liked it. Now, Candice shares a range of different health topics to her loyal and supportive community. Watch out for this girl as she keeps creating great extensions of her brand and succeeding by just doing what she loves.

Carishma Basday

Meet Carishma – international actress, dancer, yoga teacher model and currently a presenter on SABC 3’s eastern lifestyle show Mela. Although acting is her true calling, her interests aren’t boxed and Carishma has a great passion for food, sustainable living, animal rights and conservation. Those that follow her are encouraged to get in touch with their bodies, and their authentic selves. Carishma has an impeccable taste when it comes to fashion, jewellery and beauty. Oh and did we mention, she also has a huge personality?

Chad Nathan

This self-taught South African photographer, filmmaker and content creator gets flown all around the world to tell fascinating stories. Better known as Ginger With A GoPro, he’s been to more countries and experienced more cultures than anyone we know. And to be quite frank, we’re a little jealous of Chad’s incredible life! But his work doesn’t just involve the classic point and shoot. All his work is creatively thought out using different equipment, seizing great opportunities and reworking images to shift perspectives and make magic.

Daniela Canny

Say hello to one of South Africa’s leading fashion designers and pioneers, with her very own label Earthling & Moon. This ‘earthling’ is all for sustainable swimwear, clothing, and slow fashion. And Daniela is the most down-to-earth girl, living a holistic, plant-based life, whilst travelling as much as she can. She’s more than excelled in the fashion industry and her content is pure goals!

Jodie Petersen

Jodie started her modelling career at the tender age of 18, alongside her twin sister. And since then, she’s worked with some of the biggest brands and has been a part of so many out-of-this-world opportunities. Did we mention that she also made the cover of Glamour in France, back in 2018? She’s a fashion-loving, hard-working sneaker freak. Oh, and she can make anything look good! Check out her Instagram to see what we mean.

Justine Petersen

Seeing double? Nope, you’re definitely not. This is Justine, Jodie’s twin sister. Whilst they make a powerful duo, these two have very unique visions and goals. Justine loves a good change, especially when it comes to her hair – she’s currently rocking a short, bleach blonde style. Her chic and elegant style has won many over, and helped get her in major magazines like Glamour and Cosmopolitan alike.

Kamini Pather

If you’re not drooling over this girl’s Instagram account, you’re surely not human. Kamini Pather was the winner of Masterchef South Africa and is currently the host of Netflix’s Girl Eat World TV Series. Impressive, huh? But even with all she has achieved, Kamini is the most humble, down-to-earth person you’ll ever meet, living and loving life to the fullest.

Kundai Murapa

Watch out, because Kundai is taking the fitness world by storm. He’s an all-round superstar, fitness instructor, sports model and parkour athlete. But that’s not all this guy’s got to give. Kundai loves a good challenge. And it’s that mentality that’s led him to pursue a career as a film stunt performer. Currently, he’s one of South Africa’s foremost traceurs. And in 2010 he founded the incredible South African Parkour Squad, Sabotage Elite, which is a local freerunning, tricking and stunt collective. You’re braver than we are, Kundai!

Iain Campbell

From lifesaving to waterpolo, Iain knew his heart belonged in the water. But it was 16 years ago when he decided to dedicate his life to mastering the bodyboard. Since then, he has built a growing and engaged community of followers who share the same love for the ocean as he does. Today, he’s passionate about sharing and creating content for his community and you can really tell.

Rati Lekalakala

She’s a lawyer in the making, a fashion model and a passionate vegan – yes that’s Rati! In a search for her true purpose, she became an advocate for sustainable living and now lives out her passion. And she looks bomb while doing it! Rati shares topics with her near 50 000 followers – from sustainable fashion to climate change and living an eco-friendly life. But her real goal is to share all her experiences in an effort to inspire others to live more consciously.

Sanda Shandu

Meet Sanda, an amazingly talented actor, musician and voice-over artist. It’s his talent that’s won himself supporting lead roles in The Fugard Theatre's musical King Kong (which he won two awards for by the way), as well as starring in Netflix's The Kissing Booth! Sanda has the most incredible voice and talent for playing the piano. But it’s his smile and energy that will make anybody's day a little bit brighter.

Susana Kennedy

Catch Susana behind the mic as a television and radio producer and host. But more than that she’s also a speaker, entrepreneur, creative consultant and philanthropist. And Susana has the biggest heart. That’s why she’s founded mentorship programs and helped hundreds of previously disadvantaged individuals to achieve higher education, be fed and clothed, as well as escape many situations that they have found themselves in. If Susana isn’t an inspiration to you, we don’t know what is.

Shaun Verth

Meet the man that’s been in the stunt, entertainment, parkour and freerunning industry for over 10 years! Shaun’s really made a name for himself, especially for his stuntman work on The Mummy (2017), The Brothers Grimsby (2016) and Maze Runner: the Death Cure (2018). He’s always pushing the boundaries and turning adventures into new ideas. Oh and he’s also a Guinness World Record Holder. Mind-blowing!

Tracey-lee Lusty

Full-time body-positive activist, plus-size model, and foodie, Tracey-Lee, is inspiring thousands of young women across South Africa with her hugely successful local brand, Fitness Girl ZA. And she’s positioned herself among the top body positive activists in South Africa, all whilst being a successful Family Law litigator. For nearly four years, Tracey has put in the hours required to build her successful business, when she’s not in the courtroom, of course. She encourages others by sharing her stories of weight gain and weight loss struggles, with a message of body acceptance.

Zorah Booley

Zorah impressively flew to train at Le Cordon Bleu in London to follow her dream and passion; food. But it was her blog @inthemidnightkitchen, which aided her real success. Starting as a creative outlet to share her love for baking, her page is now an inspiration for global foodies. But pastries isn’t all she’s cooking up for, and there’s a lot that goes behind the dish in the picture. Zorah is incredibly talented at food styling and photography, prepping and setting up her plates effortlessly once the dish is completed. With nearly 6 years in the industry, she knows exactly what she’s doing.

Nicholas Van Graan

Originally from Cape Town, Nic is a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry. Through his unique approach to fashion and style, he has gained success and recognized not only as a model, but also as an influencer, innovator, fashion trailblazer and most recently one of GQ’s best dressed men. Living in the UK as a child and moving back to Cape Town when he was 11, Nic follows the UK fashion scene closely while also being influenced by the style of the Cape flats.

Jenny Umbahau

Jenny is a very talented ballerina, yes, but she's better known for her incredible stunt performances in various movies, both locally and internationally. Amongst her already impressive resume, Jenny is known as “The Ninja” in the South African stunt circles. Jenny is used to jet setting all around the world for her work! In fact, she's currently working in Las Vegas, Nevada where she is performing on various shoots. You go, Jen!

But wait, there’s more.

We could brag about our Golden Nuggets forever. And we do. Read our Golden Nuggets’ full bios on our website and get to know them even better.
