Introducing the 11 Influencers Who Crushed It For The “TS by Totalsports” Launch

When TS by Totalsports first approached P.H.I. with a brief to source their new ambassadors, our team was extremely excited to jump straight in and come up with an a m a z i n g concept that would blow the client away.

Totalsports is a brand we have manifested on working with for quite some time now so this was special to find out they wanted to run a campaign for their new brand-owned range of TS clothing and apparel.

The brief was to GET young, active, health and fitness enthusiasts (who have a love for sport leisure) TO have TS at the top of mind when it comes to purchasing new and affordable activewear BY showcasing how TS adds comfort and function to their everyday workout routine.

TS by Totalsports’ primary objective for this campaign was creating Reach & Awareness online about the different ranges of TS gear available at Totalsports, in-store and online.

As a secondary objective, our aim was to select the best performing influencers on the  campaign as brand ambassadors for TS by Totalsports for 2022. The last objective was engagement.

As always, we love to give more  influencers a chance to get in front of the brand before choosing long term ambassadors…So we suggested an “audition type campaign” before choosing the final ambassadors.

The content creators ALL upped their game and submitted extremely awesome content!!!!

So awesome we could not resist a mash-up video to show you what we mean by “creating incredible content” that is #qualityoverquantity which you can view here.

Having incredible content is ONE thing, having the results to show the success of the campaign in terms of ROI is just as important.

We are so proud to know we exceeded our predicted impressions by 22%, which decreased our predicted cost per impression by 18%.

With the incentive of becoming a long term ambassador, the influencers were highly motivated and therefore  created more content than required for the campaign, doubling the UGC (user generated content) promised.

Safe to say - when the numbers show success, and quote unquote, gives the Marketing Manager GOOSEBUMPS.

When selecting Alicia for this campaign, we loved the fact that she was a traveling Yoga and Movement instructor. She underpins athleticism through flexibility. We wanted to showcase that for someone within this field, the actual TS product itself is durable and offers comfort to those that require material suited for movement.

Carly Swartz

Carly Swartz, AKA Carly Fitness was a no brainer when searching for people that we thought would hit the launch campaign brief. As a group fitness instructor, we understood that her passion in life is guided by fitness and she has the ability to influence those around her in the fitness world. Her high energy content and the way in which she guides people via her workout routine, both online and in person proved she was the right woman for the job.

Courtnaé Paul

Where do we even start when it comes to Courtnaé Paul? As the first female from the continent to be represented internationally for break dancing, we wanted to see her push the limits and showcase the amount of practice and routine that needs to take place in order to pull off the moves she does. We her to show her followers that the TS gear can withstand backflips and headspins while offering comfort at the same time.

Katy Cloete

Katy Cloete is hugely impressive as a fitness influencer but even more impressive as a mother. The work and routine that it requires to put as much energy into both elements of Katy’s life is something we admired hugely when looking at selecting her for this campaign. We chose her because she showcases and taps into a market that champions mothers on the go. Her athleticism and commitment to living a holistic life comes through strongly in her content… have a look at her Reels and see for yourself.

Lethabo Monareng

If there was ever a multifaceted human being that gives his everything to staying fit, it’s Lethabo. Upon finding Lethabo, not only did he create amazing fitness orientated content and focuses on his profession as a fitness model, he is also a firefighter and trainer who offers online training and nutritional plans to his followers. For us, Lethabo fit the brand and brief because he is a man who just doesn’t stop and each day, continually enters beast mode to push himself more than he did the day before.

Mnqobi Kunene

It's always a pleasure when sourcing to come across an individual whose content you look at and genuinely feel inspired by. For us, it was the motivation that Mnqobi’s content provided which made him a great fit for this campaign, alongside the fact that he had already had former affiliations with the brand in the past. Oh and lets not forget, he was also the Men's Health Cover guy in 2019.

Nicola Schreuder

In sourcing a range of diverse influencers who operated within different fitness realms, what stood out for us when it came to Nicola was that she lives and breathes a plant-based fitness routine. Not only that, she is also a personal trainer who truly believes that life is all about balance. We wanted her to showcase that a plant based workout routine doesn’t mean you can’t absolutely push the pedal to the metal and be explosive the moment you set foot in the gym.

Neo Malebye

Neo AKA Fit Mom is another fit mother we couldn’t afford to overlook for this campaign. She honestly ticks all the boxes and does pretty much everything, from being a personal trainer; to fitness videos; to health advice and is even involves herself in a Get Fit Bootcamp which showcases exactly why she was an amazing brand fit. She is the epitome of how to never let excuses get in the way of what you want to achieve and how you want to achieve it.

Richard Sibanda

When you think of the term fitness fanatic, think of Richard Sibanda. When we came across his profile, the first thing that stood out to us was that he is not only into fitness, but he is also an entrepreneur who is the founder of Knock Out Legends, which is a ‘boxercise’ gym that really pushes people as hard as one can imagine to achieve their fitness goals. The intensity of his workout sessions and his overall personality as a professional is why we proposed him to the client.

Sherneal Joseph

As a female powerhouse and a personal trainer, Sherneal is someone we picked for this campaign because of the fact that her content offers huge benefits to those that follow her. Her Bio is what caught our eye when we were sourcing for this job… “Making Health & Fitness simple, sustainable and enjoyable.” We wanted to see some simplicity come through on this campaign that was easy to execute but EXTREMELY effective and that's exactly what Sherneal delivered.

Tristan Moses

In and amongst the different types of gym enthusiasts we sourced for this totalsports campaign, we wanted to find someone who not only enjoyed being in the gym and training, but whose main focus was within the field of professional sport; enter Tristan Moses. As someone who has donned both the Mamelodi Sundowns & Kaizer Chiefs Jersey,  we wanted Tristan to hit the field and showcase what a day of training looks like in the day of a professional footballer. As you can see by his Reels, it takes talent and hard work, which are two things Tristan doesn’t lack.

When we look at INCREDIBLE content, that tells a compelling story…like all of the above, we have a “pinch me moment”.
